ABOUT US
The ukulele might be a small stringed instrument, but its influence spans from traditional Hawaiian music to American folk to pop, and classical to country music.
The Rubber City Ukes are located in Akron, Ohio. We are ukulele players of all ages and skill levels, who gain experience and performance skills in a group setting. The Rubber City Ukes perform a variety of songs in a fun, sing-along format and is open to all ukulele players.

We typically have twice a month jams using the RCU songbook, occasional workshops, beginner lessons, and open mics. We also have a Hawaiian ukulele group that meets once a month and focuses on Hawaiian language and related songs.

HISTORY
Rubber City Ukes were founded in 2016 by Maggie Collins-Harris and Chris Miller with the hopes to become better players and meet other ukulele players. The group has grown to include jams, workshops, and performances. In 2021, Highland Square Ukulele under the direction of Jodie DeLamatre merged with Rubber City Ukes to create a mega ukulele group!

We have performed at Community Concerts, Festivals, Art walks, PorchRokr, Farmer Markets, Senior Centers, Libraries, Schools, and other happening events.
